This is a research activity that could be done as a first lesson to introduce the students to the IB. They have to work in groups to research and find key information in the guide about the IB exams, themes to study during the course, etc.
Expect this to take a good chunk of your lesson. Can be used both with SL and/or HL students.
Ideally they would have some kind of digital devices to open the guide in front of them.
A treasure hunt on google maps in the city of St Malo.
This is a creative way to introduce directions and/or the topic of “ma ville” or “mon quartier” with your students.
You will find 2 versions of the same resource, both with answer keys included. One version is more suited to introduce directions while the other is tweaked to be more suited to introduce prepositions and the topic of “ma ville”/“mon quartier”.

This lesson is fit to introduce les dangers de la publicité. It includes authentic texts (article, blog), an authentic video linked with question about idiomatic vocabulary. It also contains an authentic podcast from the radio French culture with appropriate questions to prepare your students to the listening exam. You will also find in this ressource: prompts to encourage your students to speak and develop critical thinking about advertisement, a writing activity, as well as a variety of reading activities. Answer keys are included.

This lesson can help you introduce the format of “le tract”. It includes speaking prompts, analyzing activities to identify the conventions of the format as well as group tasks and a writing activity to apply their learning.

It includes an already made quizlet set based on these lessons’ vocab, a discussion prompted from a video, a reading activity with questions as well as some instructions for further research in the last part of the lesson to compare and contrast clichés from different countries. Authentic materials are used, discussion prompts, reflection.

It includes a worksheet starter, a writing and reading (with vocabulary to look for and questions to answers), 2 slides on the development of identity in France along the centuries, with questions based on authentic material, discussion prompts, reflection slides, etc.

This is a unit of work I created this year during Spring term 2 on: il y a/il n'y a pas, places, directions, and prepositions.
It is based on a video game that I played called Legend of Grimrock, an excellent dungeon-crawler on PC. I recorded myself playing and used sequences to create the lessons around it. The resources have had great sucess with the students in my school (especially boys!)
Example of activities you will find in the resources:
- Bingos
- Listening activities and extended reading ones.
- Speaking activities while monsters attack or writing activities while attacking the monsters.
- odd one out
- separate the sentence
- etc.
All resources are differentiated and have AfL activities included. Videos should be all ready to go in view mode and self-explanatory but please don't hesitate to contact me in case you need more information on how to run something.
Keep in mind that my school is an all-ipad school and this is why the powerpoint is linked to many online resources / games.

Perfect for practicing French speaking in context while having fun! This is a game based on “le loup garou de Tiercelieu” that has been simplified. It can be done with intermediate to advanced classes.

All you need to do is write some letters on pieces of papers, read the instructions of the game with your students and that’s it, you can start the game as the narrateur and you students will be “mafieux”, “policiers”, and “villageois”, they will love it and will keep asking you to play it all along the year.
It can be quickly adapted to any languages !
