Planets Party Assembly Script

Planets Party Assembly Script

(0)
Assembly script based on a trip to space introducing the sun and the planets to the rest of the school. The script teaches some facts on each planet and their order from the sun. It has 15 speaking parts but is easily adjustable to share out the lines and add more. It contains one song, lyrics, links to lots of sound effects and a list of costume suggestions. This a really fun assembly to watch and act out full of laughs and facts. Hope it saves you some time :)
The Royal Family Assembly

The Royal Family Assembly

(0)
A fun assembly introducing the Royal Family beginning with Aethelstan the first King of England. It includes 29 speaking parts, 1 song and costume suggestions. This is a great way to introduce the Coronation of King Charles and a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, but can be used anytime to teach the timeline of the Royal House of Windsor. We used this script for the teaching staff and used one memeber of staff as the narrator. This script is aimed at key stage 2 onwards but as usual can be adapted for younger kids, particularly if the teacher narrates or narrators read from cards. Hope this saves you some time :)

'How to Draw a Lion' Word Class Activity

(0)
Includes step-by-step instructions both written and drawn as to how to create a cartoon lion. There is both a word and Powerpoint version of instruction, and a separate word document set up as worksheets including answer pages. There are 4 main ways to teach word classes with this resource: An oral task with kids to help them understand the use of bossy verbs with them unaware of what the are meant to be drawing. A set of instructions in which they must find bossy verbs. A set of instructions in which they must find bossy verbs and adjectives. A set of instructions in which they must find bossy verbs, adjectives and nouns. I’ve used activities like this regularly to improve my classes listening, confidence in art skills and get used to positional language. I have used it for cross-curriculuum learning in RE when teaching Daniel and the Lion’s Den as well as science when studying animals. Hope it saves you time :)

I have used this in RE when teaching Daniel and the Lion’s Den as well as science when studying animals. If you wish to use this as a literacy activity I have an alternative resources which is the same but altered to find word classes or focus of imperative verbs. I would use this activity throughout the keystages giving the picture step-by-step for younger ages and simply giving audible steps for older classes. Hope it saves you time :)
Phonics Assembly

Phonics Assembly

(0)
An assembly explaining phonics in a fun way. The aim is to have one class educate other classes or even parents on the basics of phonics. It briefly explains: phonemes, digraphs, trigraphs, blending and has some practical rhymes, songs and games to help demonstrate these. It was written with year 2/3 in mind but can easily be adapted to work for any class above year 1. I would also suggest this a whole school assembly with staff acting it out for parents/children. I still meet parents who’s children have made it to year 6 and have not understood the basics of phonics or why it’s used within school. I highly recommend taking time to educate parents in phonics so they feel like they can help with homework etc. Hope this saves you time :)
'Twas the night before Christmas' Nursery/KS1 Assembly Script

'Twas the night before Christmas' Nursery/KS1 Assembly Script

(0)
Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. The teacher or Teaching Assistants should narrate while the class act it out through mime or dance. Santa is the only speaking part, which could be covered by a teacher too. The script is extremely adaptable and funny. The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly, but is sure to bring tears, laughter and Christmassy joy.

'Twas the night before Christmas' Assembly

Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. It has 12 narrators and 18 acting parts involving a lot of mime or dance. The script is extremely adaptable and funny. The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly and would be most suitable for year 3/P4 and anything right through secondary school. If you wanted to adapt it for a younger class I would recommend giving the narrators the words to read on cards rather than learning them off.

Everyone should learn a little more about Saint Patrick’s history and how celebrating him has changed over the years. There are 3 rounds; 1. Saint Patrick Facts 2. True or False 3. Saint Patrick’s Day Hope this activity saves you some time :)

'What's my number?' Math Challenge

19 celebrity profiles (including Mo Salah, Little Mix, Boris), all using multiplication, division, addition and subtraction sums to reveal information about themselves. I have included one more difficult set of sheets with larger numbers and trickier calculations, the second should be accessible to children who have a grasp of basic multiplication. These are word documents but can be easily displayed on the whiteboard for a whole class lesson. There are blank templates at the end of the document which I have sent home as a homework (encouraging them to research a celebrity themselves linked to another subject), used as a peer challenge (one child must create the questions and sums for another), a weekly challenge (lasted 2 terms for me and I printed the sheets in a3 and placed them on the wall for pupils to complete first thing in the morning) and also as a start up in the beginning of an ofsted lesson. Hope this saves you some time :)

Fear - Social Learning Story and Comprehension

The story is about Bas the Bat who has been hibernating for a long time. When he finally wakens up the world around him is different and scary. The story is made to help children adjust to returning to school/homeschool/lockdown after a long time or those struggling with the somewhat ‘scary’ Covid life. The resource includes a social learning story powerpoint made to read aloud to kids. Either print in a3 or display as the powerpoint attached. It also includes a printable version of the story and a set of 8 comprehension questions. The comprehension questions are in word format and can be edited to match ability or KS.

STEM Mud Kitchen Resources

Mud kitchen themed outfoor learning resources. Mud Kitchen not necessary Simply an outdoor space with access to some grass etc. In the current climate a lot more learning is encouraged to take place outside and this resource is adapable from nursery to KS2. I have included blank recipe sheets which can be laminated and placed outside for free flow or mastery for older children. I have also included 8 stem challenge cards for EYFS/KS1 and 10 cards for KS2. I will be using this for my year 5 inorder to give them one day a week out of the classroom. The kids will all wear aprons, hats and we will call in forrest baking day. I think kids will enjoy a break to being trapped in the classroom and staff/parents will feel safer with children getting outsider. Adaptable Outdoor Learning STEM

New Normal/Back to School Assembly

A welcome back assembly script to introduce kids to some of the changes Covid 19 has made on school life. The assembly can be adapted to be given by the staff or a class. In my school it will be recorded by the year 6 children and staff members and shown in every class as we are unable to accomodate assemblies. Staff members thought this was a fun and light way to highlight changes in the school, but also to emphasize the love and care which is still in our school environment. It includes 29 speaking parts, 1-2 acting parts and 2 songs with lyrics and links to music. Enjoy!

Gerenation Quarantine 2020 Project

This is a time capsule project adaptable to all ages! I’ve deliberately created the project to suit at home/in school teaching and to be FUN for the kids. It is a positive way to teach and move on from time in quarantine. It includes; a powerpoint lesson on what time capsules are and looks through some famous examples. a powerpoint with step by step instructions on how to create your own time capsule (for parents/kids at home or teachers in class). a series of Quarantine sheets for young ks1 kids or ks2+ (Teachers may choose to only use the letter to a future generation template for older kids). I am very excited to use this and suggest adding in a nice art lesson where kids can create pictures of how they spent lockdown or a symbol of this time (e.g. a rainbow). Hope this helps your kids and you adapt to a new way of teaching.

The Welcome Back to School Quiz

Fun quiz with 4 rounds short rounds; 1. Lock down facts 2. Name That Celebrity 3.Happy Lock down Stories 4.Photo Challenge. You can play this on zoom with your children, one round per day or all in one go. You could also use this a welcome back in assembly or with your class. It’s a fun, positive way to talk to the children about how our world has dealt with the current virus. It was made for 5 primary use but is definitely suitable for secondary also. Enjoy :)
Sound Assembly
frazert2frazert2

Sound Assembly

(0)
KS2 focused assembly about sound. It teaches children about sound waves, the ear structure, pitch and percusion songs. It is a very informative assembly but with lots of humour, practical illustrations and one percussion song for the children to perform. There are speaking parts for 30 children varying in length and ability and links to sounds and visuals at the bottom of the assembly. Science topics should definitely be used more as assembly subjects! Enjoy!
'Giraffes Can't Dance' Assembly Script

'Giraffes Can't Dance' Assembly Script

A KS1 assembly retelling the story of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae. One pupil acts as the narrator (thouh this can easily by edited to add more narrators), then there are 6 other speaking parts. Every other child will wear an animal mask and perform in a short dance. The assembly includes full script, ideas to encourage audience participation and links to 6 songs and actions. I also used these dances to inform my PE lessons, the children loved this. This is a FUN assembly for an active class and welcome break to memorizing lines. Enjoy :)
