I currently work at the top end of Primary school in Year 5/6. I create resources for a range of subjects and am always open to suggestions for resources people require.

A resource activity that tests children's ability to use search engines accurately with 25 questions across a range of topics. Quickly find out children's capabilities and the different ways in which they use Google before then being able to use this to inform a unit of work that looks at using search engines effectively.
Three different activities based on learning about the Vikings. These include:
An activity that gives children the opportunity to create their own Viking shield. Included is a design template that includes the iron boss on already and two pages of design ideas that might help children decide what they want to do.
A blank map activity that can be used to get children to show where Vikings originate from as well as where they settled. Children can then map out the potential journey the Vikings took to get to the various places through the use of arrows. Included is a map of Europe showing where the Vikings settled and raided to support children.
Activities that can be used when teaching the Vikings in KS2. Included is a map activity that requires children to colour the map based on Danelaw and a set of questions that then finishes with a mini-essay style question where children have to apply their knowledge to respond to a statement.
A knowledge organiser for the Shang Dynasty. Included within this is a timeline for the period as well as a key vocabulary section for some of the words children may come across during the topic.
These are useful for either sticking in books at the start of the topic to refer back to or to enlarge and have on display.
A knowledge organiser for the Stone Age. Included within this is a timeline for the period as well as a key vocabulary section for some of the words children may come across during the topic.
These are useful for either sticking in books at the start of the topic to refer back to or to enlarge and have on display.
A presentation that introduces Ancient Egyptian pyramids to children, looking at why they were built, how they were built and how they were used. Also included are three potential activities that could be used with children, with all potential answers being found within the PowerPoint.
A planning overview resource to support the teaching of Science, History and Geography across KS2. Every KS2 topic is included with each planning overview following the same structure:
Knowledge children must know - This provides a minimum level of what is expected for children to know by the end of the unit and provides consistency across classes. This also helps ensure progression and cohesion between topics.
Ways of knowing they know - Ideas for checking understanding and knowing that children have learnt the minimum level of knowledge.
Vocabulary - Key vocabulary across the unit that children will need to understand
Other links - Links to other subjects and ideas for investigations (science) for each topic
The geography then runs slightly differently in that instead of cross-curricular links, it highlights which areas of the curriculum you are meeting.
These sheets help start the planning process by making it clear what children should know by the end for staff to then use and link together in a sequence of learning. This then feeds through KS2 as it ensures a minimum level of knowledge that supports progression and cohesion across the curriculum.
There are missing elements such as local fieldwork for geography which needs teaching and some match local needs for our context so these would need changing to match your local area. Because of mixed classes, the Geography and History work over two years though with an additional history of choice added each year though this could be changed to fit single year groups.
A collection of schemes of work and resources for KS2 History in one easy place.
Included so far are schemes of work for:
Maya
Industrial Revolution (Combined with Geography)
Battle of Britain
Local Study of Nottingham Castle
Skills sessions
The Interwar Years
Also included are assessment grids that work as best fit and a range of fact files/ knowledge organisers that can be stuck in books at the start of a topic.
An eleven lesson sequence that gives a brief introduction and overview of events in Europe following the end of the First World War. The sequence will focus on the end of the war and what followed with the Treaty of Versailles, some of the key events in the 1920's, the change in British politics, the rise of Hitler and the following actions that broke the Treaty of Versailles and policy of appeasement. All of the resources needed to run the lessons are included such as presentations and activities as well as the planning. These lessons have been written with upper KS2 and lower KS3 in mind but should be easily adaptable for KS4 students as well.
Lesson 1 - Chronological order
Lesson 2 - The Treaty of Versailles
Lesson 3 - The Treaty of Versailles
Lesson 4 - The Dawes Plan
Lesson 5 - Changes in British politics
Lesson 6 - Wall Street Crash/ Great Depression
Lesson 7 - Rise of Hitler
Lesson 8 - Propaganda/ Source Analysis
Lesson 9 - Revoking the Treaty of Versailles
Lesson 10 - Appeasement
Lesson 11 - Evaluating Appeasement
Also included is a brief knowledge organiser as well as a diamond 9 activity to evaluate the Treaty of Versailles.
Both assessments are uploaded separately but have been uploaded together for ease where people want both.
History and Geography assessment grids from Year 1 to 6 that can be used to check children's understanding and use as a progress measure if wished. These are to be used as best fit as there may be some areas they are weaker/ more confident in with the aim being a best fit judgement.
I created these as there appears to be a gap in both history and geography assessment at the minute in primary schools since the move to assessment without levels. This enables schools to have something in place for a foundation subject that links well to other curricular areas, as well as showing an assessment system should visitors wish to know how you monitor progress.
An activity that is useful at the end of a unit focusing on the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings to use as a retrieval style task whilst also considering the cause of events and the effect they had.
An activity that is useful at the end of a unit focusing on the Ancient Greeks to use as a retrieval style task whilst also considering the cause of events and the effect they had.
All of the guided reading activities/ reading comprehensions that I have shared for free in one place rather than finding them individually.
Included are a range of different texts and fact files that will help develop children's knowledge and comprehension.
A knowledge organiser for the Industrial Revolution. Included within this is a timeline for the period as well as a key vocabulary section for some of the words children may come across during the topic.
These are useful for either sticking in books at the start of the topic to refer back to or to enlarge and have on display.
A sample of the following resource:
A fact file about Queen Victoria that is also a reading comprehension. This includes three differentiated worksheets with 12 questions each and answers included to test children's comprehension knowledge as well as learning about Queen Victoria at the same time.

History assessment grids from Year 1 to 6 that can be used to check children's understanding and use as a progress measure if wished. These are to be used as best fit as there may be some areas they are weaker/ more confident in with the aim being a best fit judgement.

These were created using the statements from the curriculum, with a particular focus on what they should be able to do at the end of each Key Stage and then working up/ back from that/ making sure children are 'Year 7 ready' at the end of Key Stage Two. There is some overlap in the way grids may be worded but this is because the content they are learning is different and they are beginning to increase knowledge across a range of topics/ apply skills to different topics. I have attached PDF and Word documents as they can then be edited if you wish.
An activity that requires children to find some of the European countries involved in the First World War. There are two sets of differentiated maps, with a set of blank maps of 1914 Europe and a set of blank maps of modern day Europe. Also included is a labelled map of 1914 Europe to support children. This is a useful activity for beginning to look at the First World War as it gives children the opportunity to explore countries involved and consider the proximity to one another whilst providing the chance to see how much the European map has changed in the past 100 years.
A sequence of lessons of four lessons for whole-class reading comprehension lessons based on a text on Remembrance Day. Included is the PowerPoint with all four lessons (written with 5/6 in mind but easily adaptable), the information text about Remembrance Day and an activity and answer sheet for each lesson. The focus over the week covers vocabulary, retrieval, inference and the ability to summarise.
