Alevel lessons on Tudor Rebellions This is work for 2 2 hour lessons plus homework on the Nature and Threat of the Western rebellion. The Western Rebellion is one of the key rebellions which students need to study in depth for OCR ALevel. This lesson has a retrieval starter based on previous lesson. Colour code, mapping exercise to learn the narrative of the rebellion. Includes a detailed timeline/ chronology of the Western rebellion which will save you hours as I had to put it together from many different sources. Also includes a huge A3 threat evaluation sheet broken down into key criteria used to evaluate threat. This is a depth study so resources are very detailed. Analysis of threat based on all work done so far and a conclusion as well as a key debate on how violent the western rebels were.

Detailed lesson (2 hours plus hwk) on the Nature of the Pilgrimage of Grace Includes Historiography to deconstruct the question “Whose rebellion was the Pilgrimage of Grace” which is one of the key debates used for the exam. Includes key debate from the textbook and historians views evaluation.

Alevel Russian History OCR -can be used for any spec/ GCSE if simplified Very comprehensive double 2 hour lesson plus homework on the Impact of WWI on Russia - Economics, Society and Politics and the Causes of the February Revolution Includes a very detailed powerpoint including retrieval tasks for previous work studied, including debates, e.g. how stable was Russia on eve of war? Was the February revolution from above or below? Looks at all political, economic and social effects of WWI follows my previous lesson on How stable was Russia in 1914. Key Stage 4 or 3 Lesson on the League of Nations and why it failed to prevent war I devised a decision making game to try and make it a little more interesting and to get students to think more deeply about the motivations for the countries in the League in making their decisions not to sanction. This lesson looks at why the League did not stop the powerful nations in the 1930s through a decision making game.

Edexcel GCSE History: Anglo Saxon and Norman England Key Topic 2 Lesson covering Anglo Saxon rebellions against William This fully resourced lesson has everything you need to teach the rebellions against William. In reality it will take two lessons to do it properly and properly tell the stories of the Saxons who fought back. Covers the rebellions of Edwin and Morcar, Edgar Aethling and King Sweyn and Hereward the Wake.

This quiz took about 10 hours of my life (that I will never get back!) to make but the students loved it- just the right balance of inappropriate to be funny but still all related to the Tudor Court, rebellions and key individuals. It is mainly a music quiz with some of the rebels, Tudor characters and noblemen being represented in song lyrics…in other cases the rebellions are represented by the song. There is a round on Tudor swear words and other random trivia. Answer sheet attached- slides plus answer sheet should be self explanatory but if you need anything explaining further email me- lasts about an hour and a half including marking and going through answers- I don’t play the whole songs- just the relevant extracts.
