A5 prompt cards with creative writing scenarios for children to complete the story in multiple ways. Supports greater depth writing - especially if children are able to write multiple endings to the same scenario.
Scenarios can be finished in any way children interpret, so there are endless possibilities for how to complete these and no one way is correct.
Cards are in black and white like many of my resources to save on coloured ink and to avoid over-stimulation through colour-overload.
A (hopefully) useful resource for identifying features of a genre in UKS2. The generic nature of the sheet means that it can be used across any genre of writing and teaches children the skills they need in order to write a specific genre of their own choosing.
Resource focuses on audience and purpose of a genre, language and vocabulary, characters and motivations, settings, and structure - as well as additional space to add in own notes.
It can be used as part of classroom teaching to support English planning and story writing, or as part of a provision-based learning environment, alongside story books organised by genre, for children to access independently and write their own genre-specific stories.
Observation form against new OFSTED criteria for Education Inspection Framework to be used by senior leaders when observing teaching staff in KS1 and KS2.
Includes descriptors taken directly from framework for compiling evidence used in lesson observation.
Should not be used to give an overall lesson judgement, but instead used alongside other evidence such as work scrutiny, pupil questionnaires and/or assessment data.
Also includes a summary sheet to be given to member of staff being observed and space for a coaching discussion should questions arise as a result of the observation. Users can add or delete rows as necessary.
Finally, an appendix of common OFSTED questions is included that may be used as ‘stock’ questions post-observation.
Phonics 1:1 intervention to show individual sounds that children can recognise. Excellent way of showing progress in phonics linked to Letters and Sounds progression.
Use different colour highlighters each term to show progress.
User circles 2-4 sounds that child is currently working on so that different adults can continue intervention on same sound. Tick or highlight when achieved and circle next sound.
Multi-skills games for PE to play indoor or outdoor. Simple appearance in monochrome for use in classrooms wanting to reduce over-stimulation through excessive colour. Games are suitable for children of any age, but will require some reading and interpretation of the rules.
Resource can be used by teachers for PE lessons, or put out as part of a school’s outdoor/indoor PE provision.
There are 7 different games in total in this resource - each one prints on A4.
A generic template for children to use in KS2 classrooms when conducting their own non-fiction research- whether about significant people, places or significant events.
This double-sided document has the new curriculum in mind, asking children what they already know about a topic of their choosing, before generating their own questions and answering them.
Again, with the Education Inspection Framework in mind, children are asked to consider the connections they have made to things they have learned previously, before considering if there is any further research they will need to conduct. This resource is useful for non-fiction research lessons, or in classrooms with a non-fiction provision area.
