Resource focuses on audience and purpose of a genre, language and vocabulary, characters and motivations, settings, and structure - as well as additional space to add in own notes.
It can be used as part of classroom teaching to support English planning and story writing, or as part of a provision-based learning environment, alongside story books organised by genre, for children to access independently and write their own genre-specific stories.

This can be used as part of a larger activity or as a quick oral and mental starter at the beginning of each lesson.
Regular use of this will teach children how to infer the meaning of a word by using the contextualised sentences behind them.
