This is designed to help teach the Methods in Context Section for AQA A'level Paper 1. The PowerPoint introduces Methods in Context and the idea of Applying the method directly to the issue. I have used examples from the previous specification, as we have so few from the 2015 Spec. The table (word Doc) and powerpoint activity is designed to encourage students to think about how they would apply and focus their ideas, rather than generalising. There is a peer marking activity - with the current markscheme. A list of past questions, both previous and current specifications. Plenty of practice for students and can be adapted into group work for students to attempt and feedback to rest of group, or complete as individual revision/exam technique practise.

This PowerPoint is used as the 3rd and 4th lesson for GCSE WJEC Sociology (Paper 2: Crime and Deviance Section). The two PowerPoints cover Formal and Informal methods of Social Control. It introduces and develops a range of concepts relating to Social Control methods and an evaluation of their effectiveness. There are also a range of activities included.

I created this lesson for my A'Level Psychology lesson on Biological influences on Gender - specifically the role of genetics and hormones (Gender). This PowerPoint is used as the 2nd lesson for GCSE WJEC Sociology (Paper 2: Crime and Deviance Section). It introduces the concepts of Social Concept and Social Fact. The PowerPoint gives information and activities. The reference to the text book is the WJEC Illuminate Textbook. For the 1st slide I used the Vuvuzela noise which I got from YouTube, There were numerous posts of this.

Year 8 lessons on SRE and health. There are a number of lessons and activities included here for various ability levels with lesson plans and a scheme of work.

1st lesson with my Year 12s - Tutor time. I used the powerpoint to get them to think about the GCSE/GCE gap! The powerpoint was to help get to know their fellow tutees. I have further Year 12 and 13 Tutor material uploaded.

I used the 1st 3 documents with my Yr 12s. We used the powerpoint and clips. In Yr 13 once the students had chosen, been on open days etc and been through the process, I asked them to write a how to guide for the year below - see Word Doc. Designed for Yr 13 students to consider options post 18. Goes through the range of options and provides several links for students to explore. I also do a detailed sessions on the various options that the powerpoint mentions. I have other Yr 12 and 13 tutor materials uploaded.

I was asked to put together a presentation for staff to explain the importance of higher level questioning and give some examples of approaches and activities to encourage it. The powerpoint does just that! This was followed up with further training sessions and now I lead a SWG for stretch and challenge. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further explanation of any activities or further examples. I have not been able to upload the Question Generator but can send this to you separately. Also included, a self assessment sheet and notes to go with the powerpoint. Additionally, the slides contained structured questions relevant to the subject, within the Academy I teach at, all subject areas produced a specific one. The idea being that students get more used to higher order questioning and encourages better peer questioning, teachers have a visual aid - often useful if being observed.

This PowerPoint is aimed at students and can form part of the taught delivery. It goes through the the reading and researching process and how to reading effectively, considering the role and significance of the book. It begins to introduce source evaluation. The resource log accompanies the PowerPoint and I used it in subsequent lessons as students got further into the research process. AQA A'Level EPQ 7993

This PowerPoint is used as the 1st introductory lesson for GCSE WJEC Sociology (Paper 2: Crime and Deviance Section). It introduces Crime and Deviance - the concepts and some of the core arguments. (It refers to an ‘envelope exercise’ which will be returned to in later lessons as students have developed clearer and more informed ideas about offenders. There is reference to the WJEC Illuminate Textbook.

An introduction to Theories and Methods for AQA 2015 Specification This is to encourage students to look at the development of Theory over time and link some of the concepts that the will have some knowledge of through their Year 12 studies. The tick sheet is an outline of the Theory and Methods Unit

Designed for Yr 12s or Yr 13s. The ppt runs through first aid - for bleeding, burns, unresponsiveness and choking. There is a relevant news article, quiz and then information for ‘what to do if...’ I also ordered a number of resusci annes from the BHF (10 free to schools) - these come with a training DVD and we worked through this. Students liked it, especially the practical aspect. I have other Yr 12 and 13 Tutor materials uploaded also.

This provides a 1 hour plus start to Psychology develops the ideas surrounding intelligence, consciousness and what does it mean to be human. This is very much a discussion based Taster, which is particularly topical at the moment. The slides really centre around points to discuss, along with 2 video clips to help this. It requires no previous knowledge and does not preempt any of the content from the AS/A Level course. I have a 3 taster sessions, this is the 3rd (all uploaded).

It goes through the role and importance of the logbook - making it clear to students how it relates to the 4 Assessment Objectives. My students find this helpful . As a moderator I find many student's don't pay sufficient attention to the log book and this has a significant impact on their final marks.
