Here's a set of 3 calling cards I give to each of my students. In the plenary part of a lesson I get the class to hold up the card that relates best to how they feel about a topic/question etc.
I created this GCSE Trigonometry Revision sheet for my Y11 students. I printed the pdf document on A3 paper and got students to complete the questions on the sheet, adding in their own notes/mnemonics to help them remember when to use each rule/formula. The students really enjoyed doing this activity in class as part of their revision for their examinations and then took their A3 sheets home to use as part of their ongoing revision.
Once the sheet was filled in, and checked/marked we used them to answer questions from text books/past exam papers.
One of my students' completed sheets is attached too.
Here is the third of the 'Collins City' revision table sheets I use with my Year 11s as GCSE revision. Look out for the other 'Collins City' sheets and the 'Raymond Rovers' sheets.
Questions 1-5 are aimed at Foundation Tier
Questions 6-10 are aimed at Higher Tier
A worksheet (pdf) and editable ppt file on finding the Highest Common Factor (HCF) of 2 numbers. There are 7 questions in total across 3 pages. There are boxes for students to write in the factors of each number before selecting the highest common factor. Some factors are pre-populated for students to guide them along the way. Fewer factors are given as the questions progress. Best printed as a booklet so students can fold and stick in their exercise books. Aimed at lower-ability sets. Could be used as a homework/cover worksheet too.
Here is a starter I have used when teaching fractions/fractions of amounts. It involves working out the fraction of the cost of a PS3 various family members will pay towards a present. Could also be used as a plenary.
Here are a collection of resources I have used in my lessons on Negative Numbers. There are various activities/tasks for the students to complete on these slides.
I have created these Mathematics Awards to give to my students following their recent GCSE Mock examinations. The idea is to give them these in an 'Award&'s Ceremony&'; type lesson when they get their marked papers back and fill in AfL tracker sheets etc. Easy to alter these for any subject/teacher (just get rid of my name). I run the ppt as a presentation in class, and print off the slides to give to students as certificates to take home.
This, is the Pirate Game! It is amazing! I 'play&' this with my classes at the end of each term. Feel free to message me for further details of the game if needed. I have tried to provide as much info in the guide on how the game works. I have adapted this from the one my mentor on my GTP used.
