This is a PowerPoint covering the different types of Sewa with special emphasis on Langar. It includes logos, discussion tasks, written tasks and has no worksheets. It was originally planned as a 90 minute lesson for Year 7 but can be used for any KS3 or KS4 class and easily adapted for a shorter lesson. There are videos and extension activities for further study.
This was a PSHE session for tutor time for KS3-5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which is 10- 15 minutes long and contains videos, discussions and important messages for students about different religious and cultural practices and diversity. This could be used as part of the diversity element of the PSHE and Citizenship programme or could be used as an assembly. The students responded well to this session. There are no written activities and it includes a quiz to check learning and two downloaded videos that will never disappear. One video is about religious festivals and the other about non-religious festivals. This session could easily be lengthened to create a whole lesson for RE on the importance of festivals.

This is a 15-30 minute tutor time session celebrating deaf awareness week. However, it can also be used for deaf awareness at any time of the year. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grade 6-12). It was originally a Citizenship session for the whole school. It includes:
Information about deaf awareness week
Information about how many deaf people there are in the UK
Information about the devices people use
A downloaded and clipped video which will never disappear about what ‘deaf’ means
How we can support those in the deaf community
What British Sign Language is and why it is important
Activity and infographic getting students to sign their own name
A connection to Fundamental British Values, UN Rights of a Child and a Reflection task

There are discussion and activities throughout but this could easily be changed into written tasks to last a whole lesson if required. It includes dual coding and logos throughout. This presentation was well received by all year groups and many have gone on to learn BSL as a result.

This is a 15 minute assembly, PSHE, tutor time session which covers what terrorism is, what the opinions of young people are about terrorism and focuses on what to do in a terrorist attack. It mentions the Prevent Strategy and has discussion questions and no written tasks. This was originally taught to Year 10 (14-15 year olds) and students reacted well to this presentation. It gives them advice, further information and support and helplines if they need further guidance. This is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) but it should be noted that this content should be discussed sensitively with students. There are two downloaded video clips which will never disappear.
This could be shortened or lengthened according to the session and it can be used for tutor time, assembly, PSHE, Citizenship or British Values lesson or an informative look at what students should do in a terrorist attack as a whole school message.
Students reacted very well to this session and lots of interesting discussions came from it.

This is a weekly plan for PSHE in tutor time on a Thursday next year. It cover PSHE and Citizenship topics and also cover areas of Finance Education, Careers, Character Education, SMSC and FBV. Some of these sessions are available as PowerPoints from my shop. This is a planning document which you may find useful to adapt rather than starting from scratch. This is a 10-15 minute assembly on online abuse. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) and is great for an assembly or a tutor time PSHE or Personal Development session.

It was delivered during Ramadan so online sexual abuse is not covered.

This is an assembly on organisation and routine. It could be used in tutor time or as part of a PSHE or Citizenship lesson to explain the importance of being organised at school and having a good routine. It is based on discussion activities and does not contain any written tasks. This assembly lasts about 15 minutes with discussion.
This is a 15 minute presentation which was originally a KS3 and KS4 PSHE session for tutor time. It could be used as an assembly or a standalone quick look at how to care for the elderly in the community. It contains two youtube clips downloaded so they will never disappear, some information and a class discussion question that pupils can think about for a plenary. It also includes a small section on child carers and the intergenerational care home idea from the news. It focuses on why we should help the elderly and can contribute to the new RSE and Health Curriculum as well as the existing PSHE and Citizenship, SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Values education.
This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time session about anxiety. It explores ways to help someone suffering with anxiety and how to deal with a panic attack. It incorporates two youtube clips and has a discussion focus. There are no written tasks to complete. This is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 to give them a quick overview of what anxiety is and how we can support people with mental health issues. This could be used as part of the new RSE & Health Curriculum or as part of a standalone session on mental health, PSHE or tutor time resource.
This powerpoint is designed to last 10-15 minutes as a presentation to be delivered in tutor time to any of KS3 or KS4 (Years 7-11, Ages 11-16). It contains downloaded videos, definitions, information, quizzes and discussion activities. It does not contain written activities but these could easily be added to create a whole lesson. This is suitable for an assembly, tutor time or whole school session.
This is a 10-15 minute assembly about being an entrepreneur. It is suitable as an assembly, a tutor time PSHE, Citizenship or Careers session and offers a snapshot of entrepreneurship. It covers:
