I have been Head of RE, Pastoral Lead and Head of PSHE & Citizenship in my 19 year teaching career. I am currently Head of PSHE & Citizenship at a large secondary school 11-18. My shop includes: PSHE and Citizenship sessions, Assemblies, Tutor Time activities SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Religious Education. This is to be used for any student studying OCR A Level Religious Studies H573 and fits into the topic on the Ethics paper - ‘Euthanasia’. This is a great revision resource to give to your students to make sure they are revising the correct content for this topic. My students loved it and are finding it really useful in the preparation to the exams.

This is a 15 minute assembly about bipolar disorder which is suitable for tutor time, PSHE or a short whole school session to explore bipolar disorder. It explains what bipolar is, what the symptoms are and how to get support if needed. There are some video clips (downloaded so they will never disappear) and discussion activities but no written tasks. It is suitable for ages 11-18 (KS3, KS4 & KS5, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) to give an overview of this mental heath illness for students. It was originally used as a KS3 PSHE session in tutor time and students enjoyed learning about this important issue. It ends with a quick true or false quiz and has a slide of charities/helplines to support them if they need it. Students reacted very well to this session. Terrorism - What to do in a terror attack? Assembly, Tutor Time, PSHE, Whole School

This is a 15 minute assembly, PSHE, tutor time session which covers what terrorism is, what the opinions of young people are about terrorism and focuses on what to do in a terrorist attack. It mentions the Prevent Strategy and has discussion questions and no written tasks. This was originally taught to Year 10 (14-15 year olds) and students reacted well to this presentation. It gives them advice, further information and support and helplines if they need further guidance. This is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) but it should be noted that this content should be discussed sensitively with students. There are two downloaded video clips which will never disappear. This could be shortened or lengthened according to the session and it can be used for tutor time, assembly, PSHE, Citizenship or British Values lesson or an informative look at what students should do in a terrorist attack as a whole school message. Students reacted very well to this session and lots of interesting discussions came from it. This is a weekly plan for PSHE in tutor time on a Thursday next year. It cover PSHE and Citizenship topics and also cover areas of Finance Education, Careers, Character Education, SMSC and FBV. Some of these sessions are available as PowerPoints from my shop. This is a planning document which you may find useful to adapt rather than starting from scratch. This is a 10-15 minute assembly about the rise in household bills in the UK from 1st April 2022. This also covers the energy crisis, cost of living and the new laws that are now in place from this date. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) and includes many discussion activities that could easily be lengthened as written activities if you wanted it to last for a 60-90 minute lesson instead. It was used as a Citizenship whole school tutor time session for the week before the price hike. It includes: What is happening with the price rises? Why are the wholesale energy prices rising? -What sort of things are being increased? Prices such as council tax, cars, energy etc with figures. A downloaded and clipped video which will never disappear about the new laws that are taking effect in the UK from 1st April 2022. Class debate around personal responsibility for changing actions to help How this links to the British Value or Rule of Law How this connects to the UN Rights of a Child Discussion and reflection point Links so students can watch or read about the issue further (excellent for online platforms) Quotes, pictures, dual coding, reference to other news stories of the week Ends with an online news quiz Extension video if you are going to use this resource for a lesson - downloaded and clipped so it will never disappear. This is a 10-15 minute assembly on online abuse. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) and is great for an assembly or a tutor time PSHE or Personal Development session. It covers: Link to FIFAs online abuse campaign Definition of online abuse Actions that are considered abuse A short downloaded video clip about the 9 protected characteristics which will never disappear Reasons why online abuse is unacceptable What students should do if they experience online abuse (change the logo to your local police force) A short downloaded video clip with a case study about how online abuse made a young person feel Points to remember Finishing slide It is a fully narrated assembly but this can easily be changed by deleting the icon on each slide. This presentation was as a result of online abuse happening within the school community and it was a very effective presentation for the whole school. This is a 15 minute presentation which was originally a KS3 and KS4 PSHE session for tutor time. It could be used as an assembly or a standalone quick look at how to care for the elderly in the community. It contains two youtube clips downloaded so they will never disappear, some information and a class discussion question that pupils can think about for a plenary. It also includes a small section on child carers and the intergenerational care home idea from the news. It focuses on why we should help the elderly and can contribute to the new RSE and Health Curriculum as well as the existing PSHE and Citizenship, SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Values education.

This is a 60-90 minute narrated lesson about religious views on protest. It includes some downloaded video clips which will never disappear. It includes different religious quotes about protest and has activities based on Martin Niemoller’s poem, ‘Then they came for me’ and the question of whether we should protest for others. It explores how the Golden Rule of all religions can be used for views on protest and goes through how to answer a 12 mark GCSE answer on this topic - "Religious people should always protest about important issues. It includes discussion and written activities and is fully narrated. You can easily delete the icon on each slide if you do not want it narrated or want to change some of the more specific slides for homework etc. This was originally an a lesson for Year 9 in the topic of ‘Protest’ in Religious Education but is suitable for all secondary school pupils (Ages 11-18 KS3, KS4 and KS5).
