The Resources within this shop are all designed for the teaching of Mathematics for those in the age range 7 - 18 years old. Most resources consist of a PowerPoint lesson followed by a worksheet for the students. With over twenty nine years of experience, the powerpoint/worksheets within the shop have been used successfully by myself and colleagues over that time. As a head of department for over 15 years, the department has yearly been judged as adding substantial value to students grades.

This Powerpoint consists of a variety of worked examples which demonstrate how we can calculate the mean by using the "fx" column. The lesson starts with students asked to calculate the mean of a large set of data. Next by placing the data into a tally chart it is easy to show how much quicker it is to calculate the mean when presented in this format rather than a list of numbers.

Here are two powerpoint lessons which give information and properties to all the types of triangles and quadrilaterals which younger students need to know about. The first lesson looks at equilateral, isosceles, right angled and scalene triangles and lists other properties such lines of symmetry and rotational symmetry. The second lesson then looks at the quadrilaterals such as squares, rectangles, the parallelogram, trapezium and kite. This is concluded with a worksheet and answers. The recent edit now includes examples where students must plot coordinates and then name the polygon drawn.

This lesson is a follow on from the lesson on differentiation by first principles. Following that lesson and homework, students should by now have realised a shorter approach with differentiation. This lesson develops that understanding, whilst still remaining with the positive power. There is an assumption here that they would have met Tangents and Normals to the curve through their geometry work. The lesson also contains a worksheet for students to work through.

This lesson and worksheet teaches students, through worked examples, how to work out missing angles on a straight line by calculation. This Powerpoint is used for students who struggle with Mathematics or as an introduction for younger students. The worksheet also has an answer sheet provided. This powerpoint lesson follows any lesson that has introduced functions to students. The lesson begins by demonstrating how functions could be combined together in order to make other functions. It then demonstrates, through worked examples, how to calculate a composite function. The worksheet has two uses, the first three questions are designed for students to demonstrate they have followed the process of finding a composite function. The remaining questions, whilst continuing this process, leads us to another lesson on Inverse Functions. The composite for the remaining questions work out to be repeatedly x.
