As they are hidden away in the pockets higher ability children will not become dependent on resources, such a posters or vocabulary cards that are on show permanently.
Boxes - designed to be used as a lesson starter on desks for synonym sorting activity or children to write their own on the blank sticks.
BLANK set - used for children to come up with their own synonyms/up-levelled words for a lesson starter.
Rules
You can play as individuals or a coaching pairs (a higher and lower ability learner)
Stand children behind the coloured questions you want them to start with
Set timer for specific amount of time for a question (e.g. 30/60 seconds)
Child answers the question and records it on their sheet in the set amount of time.
When the times up shout ‘SCOOT!’ and students move to next available question card
Repeat
