This PowerPoint is a general introduction to AFOREST and how it can be used in Room 101. This lesson can be easily changed for remote learning as it has elements of both remote and classroom learning. The structure is based on a ‘Do Now’ followed by a ‘Think-Pair-Share’ activity. It then allows the teacher to teach AFOREST in the way they wish depending on the groups ability. Advertising PowerPoint for Year 7's to give them an insight into some of the techniques used within advertising. The lesson includes going trough the basics such as terminology and also embedded YouTube clips embedded showing certain TV advertisements which can be used for Q&A sessions. You can choose your own logo's for the final pair exercise depending on your class.

An interview lesson for a mixed ability group of year 7 students introducing them to the poem. The lesson opens by tapping into students’ initial thoughts of what things they do during Half Term Break (Mid Term Break). This, similar to the poem allows the students to empathise with Heaney through analysis of the poem through Q&A discussion and a main exercise which asks students to find poetic techniques.

This lesson is perfect for an English class on their first day back at school for KS3. The studied poem is ‘Summer Goes’ by Russell Hoban. The lesson primarily focuses on how the students in your class can relate to the speaker in the poem after summer ends. The resource has a PowerPoint and a copy of the poem included.

This lesson teaches students about Europe in terms of location, cities and also rivers through multiple exercises. There is also a quiz where students have to guess the European country. This can be done with an aided map in the students’ diary depending on the group. There are also printable maps where students can write the location of Europe on both a ‘Global Scale’ and ‘Regional Scale’.

This PowerPoint goes through dramatic techniques in Hamlet. It analyzes many techniques such as imagery, word play, soliloquies amongst others.

This is a comprehensive overview of a scheme of work I created as Head of English. This links to the specific reading and writing strands from the National Curriculum. Each half termly topic for Year 7-9 links to the learning outcomes which are in individual tables. Therefore making it a 64 page word file which is sufficient for any inspection. NB: This is specific to a curriculum I created for the upcoming academic year and my own scheme of work.

Before studying Benjamin Zephaniah’s poem ‘Good Hope’, it is important to get a sense of what the students believe in. In the poem, Zephaniah repeats the phrase ‘I believe’ and this lesson is an opportunity for students to think about what they strongly believe in. This can be part of a wider writing project or as a way of getting students prepared for some of the topics in Zephaniah’s poem. The PowerPoint asks students questions to give them more ideas before they write on a planning sheet for what they believe in entitled ‘I Believe’. PowerPoint on how to redevelp Dharavi by giving them the task of being the Mayor of Dharavi. Students must use critical thinking in order to come up with solutions to the problem. It comes with a information sheet on Dharavi’s redevelopment.

An observation lesson with my Year 7 students introducing them into Crime in London. The ‘Do Now’ task is to get students to think of the real-life knowledge of crime. The main task is to complete a choropleth map of crime in London where students are given data to complete this by representing this by colouring in the map which is included.
