Working in the international teaching sector brings plenty of benefits: exotic locations, good salaries and career opportunities.

However, sometimes you really just want a crumpet, a cup of Yorkshire Tea or a packet of Monster Munch - but they’re nowhere to be found in the local supermarkets.

As such, trips home, or visits from friends and family, are a handy time to top up on those must-have food essentials - as these teachers on Twitter show, after a post by teacher Liz Jones inspired a range of responses.

1. Marmite and Branston Pickle

Condiment supplies are in. What’s your international guilty pleasure? #BSNTeachLiveLearn pic.twitter.com/OqBWyyoNSi

2. Sausages and crumpets

3. Crisps!

It used to be Heinz baked beans but I can get them here in Malaysia! Now it’s probably good flavoured crisps!

4. Skips and Mint Aeros

Skips and mint aeros everytime. People laugh when I ask them to bring them over...and then they don’t bring them and instead turn up with teabags!! Teabags in Asia! I don’t think ppl realize how dire the situation is. It’s all a joke to them. pic.twitter.com/bnSG55XUNV
