AMAZON.CO.UK, the Internet bookseller, has teamed up with a national literacy charity to encourage reading among children. It will donate pound;1 to the National Literacy Trust for every book sold from a selected list of children’s titles during Easter. Books on the list, sold at a 30 per cent discount, cover a range of classics and contemporary bestsellers, including Harry Potter and Winnie the Pooh, and titles by CS Lewis. Money raised will go to the trust’s Reading Is Fundamental initiative, which aims to encourage reading by allowing children to choose three free books a year.
