Everybody knows that bad behaviour is the biggest obstacle to learning in schools. I’m glad to see that it’s finally been recognised and talked about (“Union’s warning to heads: you must face up to bad behaviour”, 15 April).
I’m an NQT and am totally amazed at what kids get away with, only to be given a “warning” by management.
Pupils need to be more than told that swearing and acting aggressively towards their teacher is wrong - they need a proper sanction or they will keep doing it.
