A summer exhibition which encourages children to explore the natural world on their doorsteps has opened at the National Museum of Scotland.
Garden Detectives is inspired by the simple observational methods used by Charles Darwin and forms part of Darwin 200 - a national programme of events marking the 200th anniversary of the scientist’s birth. The hands- on exhibition features a specially-created replica garden which inspires young visitors to use their eyes, ears and sense of smell to follow clues and find out about the insects, animals and plants that live in the different areas, from sheds and ponds to flower beds and hedgerows. It is sponsored by Scottish Natural Heritage.
