A British National party councillor who sits on a council education committee has called for white pupils to receive money targeted at the education of ethnic-minority children.
Richard Mulhall of the far-right BNP has been a member of Calderdale’s schools and children’s services scrutiny panel since June.
The 36-year-old unemployed warehouse manager told The TES that the ethnic minority achievement grant (EMAG) should be distributed in a “colour blind” way. His appointment has been bitterly opposed by local teachers’ unions.
