These 12 numbers fit into the blue squares of the grid, with one digit in square.

Square dance
Make 9 squares with edges measuring 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 18 centimetres.
Find a way of arranging them to make a rectangle.

SOLUTIONS Square dance (ages 11 to 16) The rectangle measures 32cm by 33cm.
Younger students may need to be told these dimensions. Working clockwise, the 4 corners are filled with the squares with sides 18, 14, 9 and 15cm.
The 10cm square fits in the middle of one side, with the 9 and 14cm squares on either side of it. The other three squares fit in the middle.
