Unilever International Schools Art Project
Schoolchildren aged five to 18 are invited to create works of art on the theme Show Me! Tell Me! Connecting and Communicating, which links with Bruce Nauman’s current display in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall. Closing date: October 25. One artwork from each participating country will be displayed at Tate Liverpool, November 4-6. Winning artists spend three days in London, including a creative session at Tate Modern. Channel 4 and the Institution of Electrical Engineers are inviting students aged 13-19 to create an original and engaging website. A free teachers’ CD-Rom is available containing cross-curricular lesson plans and a copyright-free library of images, sounds and video. Closing date: December 17. Global Canvas National Schools Art Competition
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation invites entries from young people aged 8-10, 11-13 and 14-16 on the theme Fragile Planet, by February 11. Up to 50 entries from each age group will be judged by wildlife artist David Shepherd at the Natural History Museum, London, in March. Prizes will include an afternoon at David Shepherd’s studio and Daler Rowney artistic materials.
