Click On It! is a new campaign from the National Literacy Association that gives under-achievers a chance to improve their literacy skills through ICT. The association has teamed up with R-E-M, a software distributor, to allow hundreds of disadvantaged children to try out literacy programs. In return, they have reviewed software, writing about their likes and dislikes, and can now read their words in the colourful Click-On-It! report.
Publishers interested in joining the association’s campaign should contact Charlie Griffiths at the NLA, who says: “There is no doubt that ICT engages and motivates children, but we make sure children taking part have lots of books, too.”
