The parents of murdered schoolgirl Victoria Climbie have opened a new school dedicated to her memory. A total of 360 children aged between five and 11 will attend the school in Victoria’s home town of Abobo in the Ivory Coast. Funding has come from the Victoria Climbie Charitable Trust, set up to raise money in the aftermath of her killing. Her parents, Berthe and Francis, want to help Ivorian children get an education locally instead of going abroad like their daughter.
