British MuseumFathom online courses

Teachers can taste university-level study without doing a full degree through the BM’s new venture with Fathom, the knowledge and education site. Some 50 free e-seminars are on the site with another 50 in the pipeline. Subjects include Agatha Christie and Archaeology, linking to the museum’s recent exhibition Agatha Christie: Mystery in Mesopotamia, and Afghanistan and the Taliban.

ICT in Practice Awards

Get your nominations in to the British Educational Communications Technology Agency for your star teachers. Up to pound;5,000 will be shared between the winners and their institutions. Entries from Foundation Stage teachers are particularly encouraged. Entrants must show evidence of using ICT to meet and extend the needs of the early learning goals. Winners get the chance to share their good practice with other education professionals. Closing date is July 26 2002.
