The Inspectorate has agreed on the unusual step of agreeing to meet a cross-party group of senior East Dunbartonshire councillors to air the authority’s disquiet following an HMI report on Balmuildy primary in Bishopbriggs. There are also claims of inconsistencies in other reports.
The school’s board objected to the headteacher’s leadership being described only as “fair”, a verdict Ian Mills, the director of education, later described as “somewhat harsh”.
The board wrote to HMI rejecting its criticism of the school’s communication with parents, but has not yet received a reply.
