A new training programme focusing on helping apprentices to gain tech skills is being launched by leading apprenticeship company WhiteHat.

Apprenticeship company WhiteHat will work with Flatiron School, a new coding school run by space, community and services provider WeWork in central London. The bespoke course has been created to help apprentices to acquire tech skills to help them get a foot in the door to start their careers, and it will start later in the year.

‘Apprenticeship opportunities’

The level 4 software developer apprenticeship lasts for 18 months.

Euan Blair, co-founder and chief executive of WhiteHat, said the company is committed to “democratising access to the best careers in tech”.

He added: “Through our exclusive partnership with Flatiron, we will be able to broaden our offering to enable students the chance to gain the most relevant tech skills in order to excel in first-rate apprenticeship opportunities.”

Avi Flombaum, dean and chief product officer of Flatiron School said he is excited to open the doors and welcome the first cohort of students. He added: “Our goal is to open up opportunities and access to cutting-edge tech skills for people from all walks of life, whether they are young and fresh from university or professionals looking to upskill or change careers later in life.”
