TEENAGERS believe facts and figures learned at school are often irrelevant. Six out of 10 17 and 18-year-olds think school does not provide them with the skills they need later in life. The poll of 500 teenagers was conducted for BskyB’s community affairs programme Reach for the Sky. “You’re not ever going to use trigonometry or Pythagoras to become a barrister,” one teenager told a focus group.
