As out-and-about time looms, chief medical officer Professor Sir David Carter has donned welly boots and issued an alert to teachers about farm visits and the potentially fatal bug E.coli 0157.
Sir David advises children not to put teir face against an animal and not to put their hands in their mouths after touching one. (Particularly avoid lions at the safari park - Ed.)
They should also avoid touching animal droppings. He’s spoiling all the fun now.
