An East Dunbartonshire secondary school has signed an “enterprise in education partnership agreement” with the makers of Scotland’s other national drink.
Lenzie Academy and Barr Soft Drinks, of Irn Bru fame, have linked up as part of the Scottish Government’s Determined to Succeed programme. Pupils will visit Barr’s Cumbernauld headquarters, hear presentations, take part in mock interviews and go on work placements.
Barr’s first involvement was to sponsor and judge a recipe challenge, organised as part of the school’s St Andrew’s Day celebrations. The winning dish will be served in the company’s head office.
