Some schools offer posts that say a teaching and learning responsibility point will be available for a suitable applicant. Does this mean that they don’t want a newly qualified teacher?

I am surprised that this practice hasn’t been dropped after the staffing review schools carried out last term. If the post carries responsibility for teaching and learning, then it should say so. The new arrangements were supposed to stop schools using teaching and learning responsibility points as a recruitment device. There are recruitment and retention points available for schools finding it difficult to make appointments.
