The chief executive of a multi-academy trust has attracted criticism over a post on his Instagram account which reportedly said: “F**k Ofsted.”
Tony Draper, a former president of the NAHT heads’ union, is chief executive of the Lakes Academies Trust, in Milton Keynes, where one of the primary schools has this year been downgraded by Ofsted from “outstanding” to “inadequate”.
According to today’s Times newspaper, a picture of a yacht was also posted on his Instagram account with the caption: “Sod all you bl**dy peasants. I’m having one of these and cruising the Adriatic - because I’m worth it.”

Screenshots of the Instagram posts drew strong criticism from parents after they were shared on social media.
Ofsted criticism
One parent asked: “His school failed Ofsted so what impression does this give us parents?”
One, writing on Facebook, said: “I believe it’s down to the leadership of the one in charge. He probably hasn’t got the greatest team around him but then again one must wonder how on earth he decides to manage his team from the Adriatic Sea!”
Another said: “He should not be allowed to earn £100,000 a year running an academy.”
Mr Draper’s Instagram account is currently on a private setting.
Lakes Academies Trust is made up of two schools: Water Hall Primary School, which is currently rated as “inadequate” but was rated at the last inspection as “outstanding”; and Knowles Primary School, which The Times reports was also rated as “inadequate”, although there is currently no Ofsted report available on the website.
Tes has approached Lakes Academies Trust for comment.
The NAHT said it did not wish comment on what was “a school matter”.
