BRENT Parents’ Forum, in north London, is blazing a trail by taking positive action to clamp down on bullying in schools. Parents and teachers will have the opportunity to share views and learn about strategies to deal with the problem at a discussion session next Monday.
Ita McNamara, a teacher at Kingsbury high school, will be speaking about her award-winning peer mentoring scheme to tackle bullying at the meeting.
She will be joined by Antoinette Onyejiuwa, organiser of Brent’s Pyramid Club, which helps primary children build up resilience and self-esteem to overcome potential bullying. The forum begins at 7pm on June 16 in the Willesden Centre, 95 High Road, Willesden Green, NW10.
