One element of the Government’s reputed push to lessen the bureaucratic burden in schools has been its much-heralded “laptops for teachers” initiative.
Teachers awaited the announcement of “How many?” with baited breath. The leadership team struggled to create fair criteria for their distribution among our 117 teachers.
Then came the letter: four laptops to “distribute”. Had we really wasted valuable time even talking about them? We’ll draw names from a hat.
In the next round, Estelle, I suggest sending every teacher a personalised letter with gold coloured print saying: “You have already won a prize.” At least that way they will know what to expect.
