The latest inspectorate review highlights extensive progress in making ICT integral to daily work, although there are still complaints about reliability of equipment, problems with networks and lack of technical support.
A Strathclyde University survey in September for the Scottish Executive echoed HMIE’s findings, released ahead of an education directors’
conference on ICT.
In recent years, inspectors say, there has been a commendable increase in primaries and secondaries in the number of data projectors, interactive whiteboards, digital cameras and facilities for digital video editing.
Some 93 per cent of teachers have signed up for ICT training via the New Opportunities Fund.
