Britain’s most flamboyant billionaire has offered a reward for key stage 3 pupils to design the most innovative gadget inspired by space flight. Virgin Galactic is challenging pupils to design a marketable product - a toy, a game, a household appliance, or a tool for an astronaut to use - which demonstrates one or more of the science, technology or engineering principles used in its space tourism programme.
The winning team will join Sir Richard Branson at his company’s spaceport in Mojave, California, to watch the launch of SpaceShipTwo.
