England’s largest exam board apologised this week after setting 11,000 pupils an “impossible” GCSE paper.
AQA’s humanities exam questioned pupils on sources, such as written extracts and photographs. But the board failed to send the source booklet to schools and colleges. Pupils were told to take the exam anyway. AQA said examiners would take the situation into account when awarding grades.
