The videos of the nine students with additional support needs creating their drinks provide inspiration for a mocktail hour hosted by the Association of Colleges tomorrow to mark the final day of this year’s #CollegesWeek.
The preparing for independence course is part of the foundation studies offer at New College Durham. Colin Galley, a lecturer at the college, said: “We got involved with colleges week to help showcase the skills and talents of our learners in the work we do with them as part of their study programme.
“With developing their independence and employability skills, getting involved in this project has given the students the opportunity to show why they enjoy coming to college and their creative side in making mocktails for college’s week. The students think it is amazing that their ideas and creations are going to be used across the AoC and for other people to try their mocktails.”
