Keyboard Crazy is a good idea. It consists of a giant PC keyboard frame into which you slide one of two double-sided mastercards. These offer upper- and lower-case visual clues for younger children, and a blank one for your own ideas.

A selection of simple games involves matching plastic blocks to the right slots, so improving speed and ability on thePC keyboard. The games provide opportunities for individuals or teams to improve letter and number sequencing skills.

This is the brainchild of David Dodd, a parent intrigued by the frustration he saw on a parent-school partnership computer skills course. Keyboard Crazy won a major competition for innovative commercial ideas, which is no surprise, as it is simple to use and sensibly priced.
