Julian Baggini’s Another Voice article (p26 TES March 7th) was fine in its criticism of the `everyone’s viewpoint is valid’ approach to moral education. However it was spoiled by the tired and clichd sniping at `the religious’ as people who simply want to be told what is right and what is wrong.
Reasoning why one takes a moral stance on any subject, whether sexual or other, is not the sole preserve of the secularist. It has always been central to my growth in religious understanding and is at the heart of any useful RE syllabus.
