Patrick, the first picture book written and illustrated by the Children’s Laureate, Quentin Blake, is out of print until March when Collins publishes a paperback - another reason why Gwynneth Bailey, language co-ordinator at Aldborough primary school, Norwich, treasures her copy.
“This celebratory book has been a favourite in my classroom for years,” she says. Wonderful things happen when Patrick buys a violin.
“Patrick is a fine introduction to other Blake figures: Simpkin, Mister Magnolia, Professor Dupont and the doughty Mrs Armitage.”
