How to finance schools under a Scottish parliament will be a key feature of the millennium inquiry, run jointly by management and unions. The Educational Institute of Scotland believes funding issues will underpin any chance of eventual agreement.
A statement issued through the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities confirms that four task groups, each comprising five members from each side, will examine the future financing of schools and the role of education departments, demographic pressures and how to match resources, management structures in schools and the work and effectiveness of the Scottish Joint Negotiating Committee.
