The latest set of performance indicators issued by the Scottish Executive cover the work of Scotland’s 300 educational psychologists. Bryan Kirkaldy, chairman of the Association of Scottish Principal Educational Psychologists, welcomed the new self-evaluative measures, launched at last week’s conference. He described them as “authoritative and practical”.
Tommy MacKay, a prominent psychological consultant and president-elect of the British Psychological Society, was commissioned by the Scottish Executive to draw up the framework. He said that Scotland now led internationally in having indicators for educational psychology.
