Nick Palmer MP, secretary of the all-party Internet group, managed to get 23 other members to sign an Early Day Motion in the Commons last month accusing Dixons group, which includes PC World, of dominating the pound;2 billion-a-year home cmputer market. It has a 57 per cent slice plus exclusive deals with Compaq and Packard Bell. Palmer called on the Office for Fair Trading to investigate, but it says Dixons do not appear to infringe the new Competition Act.
