THE article on threats to teachers (TES, May 19) mentioned the Elton inquiry of 1988. This inquiry did its research, got its findings and recommended training in behaviour management for teachers. Quite a lot of this took place, much o it very good, but the problem is still there.
Perhaps the Government will now recognise what the grunts have known all along: the problem lies with the pupils.
