Flummoxed? This week’s job isn’t for you then. Five out of five gets you an application form for the Director of Schools for the Archdiocese of Liverpool, the largest Roman Catholic education department in England.
Current director Robert Newman is moving on after 13 years which saw a major re-organisation on Merseyside, with the number of Roman Catholic schools cut from 330 to 260.
The diocese are looing for a practising Catholic who comes from within the Catholic education system, but applications are also welcome from local education authority workers.
The job involves liaison with eight LEAs and responsibilities include school buildings, asset management, services to governing bodies, monitoring of school performance and advice to heads and parents. Religious education isn’t part of the job. Salary is ‘in the region of’ pound;50,000. The new director starts in September.
