Now and again along comes a presentation program bursting with functionality that sets you thinkingI yes I could use it for thatI and that. Project Presenter is one. Load the program and simply drag any images on to the on-screen window and you’ve almost created a slide presentation.

There are also a variety of fades to choose from: “instant”, pull-down, wipe-downuprightleft, verticalhorizontal blinds, poster, dissolve, raindrops and crusher. Now you can set the time for each appearance and add a text caption (with effects). And now comes the clever bit - drag on a sound clip to accompany the slide or, instead, don’t use a still image at all but a video clip.

The amount of control over what happens and th appearance is extensive for such a little program. Once in the working window, each item can be shuffled about and re-ordered. Choose the “buttons” option, and Project Presenter will display two buttons for you to click on to move forwards or backwards. You can alter the position of the buttons that appear from the Choices window or you can use the mouse buttons instead. The “loop” command allows you to make the whole display repeat continuously. You can even save a presentation as an application which will run without needing the Project Presenter program.
