I am involved in writing a biography of R F MacKenzie, internationally known in the sixties and seventies as a reforming and radical headteacher, and arguably one of the most influential and controversial figures that Scottish education has produced since A S Neill.
To help with my researches, I would be pleased to hear from readers who have particular memories or anecdotes that would throw light on him both as a person and as an education reformer.
I myself was principal teacher of English at Summerhill Academy, Aberdeen, from 1966-71, and later rector of Whitfield High, Dundee.
