(Photograph) - Science in a different light: Education minister Jacqui Smith at the BBC Tomorrow’s World live exhibition in Earls Court, London. Her visit coincided with the announcement that the school year from September 2001 will be National Science Year - following in the footsteps of te National Year of Reading and the current Maths Year 2000. The year, targeted at 10 to 19-year-olds, will involve putting working scientists in schools as well as national competitions. Ms Smith said: ‘We want to create a buzz around science.’.
