Branch out into the world of Twig
A website and a series of concise videos, Twig (twig-it.com) covers a range of science topics designed for 7- to 16-year-old learners.
How does it work?
The mind map tool allows for easy browsing of the website and its video content so you can find what you need in seconds.
How can it be used?
Assign pupils the task of watching a video and writing a report on the topics discussed. You could follow through in the classroom with further debate and build activities around the subject.
Give us an example
The videos highlight key concepts in effective ways. In What is an Atom?, new terms are introduced and followed by a simple definition. When the narrator introduces the protons in the nucleus, he explains that they carry a positive charge and how the number of protons determines what element that atom is.
