Everyone, it seems, is inclined to claim they have been touched in some way by the life of Donald Dewar, the late First Minister. We are glad to see that the General Teaching Council for Scotland is no exception.
In the latest edition of its Teaching Scotland, the GTC notes that Dewar was oneof the Secretary of State’s nominees on the council from June 1977 to May 1978. A very little known fact.
Dewar recalled many years later that it was one of the few bodies to which he was appointed where he did not open his mouth once. This, surely, would not have made him unique.
