CIGARETTE giant British American Tobacco has called on the Government to raise the legal minimum age for buying cigarettes from 16 to 18.
The move is an attempt to resolve theconflict over tobacco advertising. BAT is also supporting the voluntary ID card for children, as a recent study found that one in six shops sold cigarettes to under-14s.
